Here’s a wonderful post on vintage business motivational posters from the 1920s & 1930s from the The Art of Manliness blog.

It includes dozens of fantastic motivational and employee posters featuring a range of messages that cover the spectrum from helpful to horrendous!

There are examples of great design and some admirably pithy writing, too.

It’s not surprising given the era, but remains disconcerting, to see so few representations of females in the workplace in these posters.

Please do remember to represent your own diverse workforce in the graphics and photos you use in employee communications and recruitment advertising.  It’s important!

Anyway, back to the posters.  Keep a look out for:

“Say it with Snap! … When you have something to say get to the point”

“Refuse to be sidetracked”

Both as relevant today as ever they were!
